First off, wanted to begin by giving a big THANK YOU to all of those who responded to our call for videos to be used in the presentation piece to the network! The producers got some great videos, and are working on putting together a terrific piece to show the executives in their upcoming meeting.
But for those of you who did not post videos for the project, do not let your hear be troubled. According to historical adviser J.D. Petruzzi, the production team is now wanting those who did not send in videos to take part in another piece. This time, the subject is the music for the series. As many of you are aware, the cast includes a number of acclaimed Country Music artists, including: Sara Evans, Dwight Yoakam, Kix Brooks (of Brooks & Dunn), Laura Bell Bundy, Trace Adkins, and the members of Rascall Flatts (Joe Don Rooney, Jay DeMarcus, and Gary LeVox). Rascall Flatts is also producing the soundtrack for the series, which will feature Jay DeMarcus’ orchestral score, as well as modern arrangements of period songs, and original songs from several of the artists who will feature in the series, and others as well. In addition, the series will feature several prominent pieces from the Civil War period, creating a unique musical identity from 1860s America.
So, if you didn’t get the chance to take part in the previous call for videos, here is your chance. Tell us why you think it is important to have period music featured in the series. Also, tell us what you’re excited about music-wise. Is it the artists taking part? Is it the orchestral soundtrack that Mr. DeMarcus is composing? Is it something else entirely, but still connected with music for the series? Remember to post your videos on the Official FB Page as soon as you can. Time is of the essence on this one! So, as Jason O’Mara said, “let’s get crackin’!”
