Sorry for the long time since our last post, ladies and gentlemen. The last few months have been rather busy for me. I’ve been hard at work making a film of my own (A fan-made film entitled Doctor Who: A Dame to Kill). But the project is nearing completion, and with things beginning to move forward, thought I write and update on the status of To Appomattox.
Firstly, the producers are hard at work on the Kickstarter Campaign for the film. The plan with the KS is to raise money to produce the first episode of the series as a feature-length film that will serve as a “backdoor pilot” for the series. Once the episode is completed, it will be shown to networks, and hopefully generate interest in creating the full-length series. As soon as more information is available about the Kickstarter, it will be released here.
Secondly, it was announced on the Official Facebook Page today that actor Stephen Lang is switching roles for the film. Due to his commitments to be in the upcoming sequels to Avatar, he will no longer be available to portray Abraham Lincoln in the series once it goes into production. But he is still involved in the production, taking on the role of John Brown, which is a much larger role than that of Lincoln in the first episode. So, Mr. Lang is still on board for the series, just in a smaller, but just as important, capacity.
So, that is what is going on with the production as of right now. As soon as further information becomes available, it will be posted here. Stay tuned!
